Spring flowers in Oregon start in March. Typically it is the second or third week of March. It is important to follow along on social media to see when the flowers are blooming if you plan to see them on time. It’s Oregon-so the rain can easily take the flowers away!

Finding Spring Flowers in Portland Oregon
The waterfront Park in late March through early April is when to catch the popular cherry blossoms. It is so incredibly special because there are 100 Akebono cheery trees blooming with white and pink petals. Since 1990, the trees have been here after given by a group from the Japanese Grain Importers Association.
The Portland Japanese Garden is a wonderful place to see cherry trees and other gorgeous spring blooms. It is worth a stop, truly a beautiful and peaceful park to walk around, even in the rain!
In April, the trillium flowers start to bloom on hiking trails in Oregon. Forest Park, Hoyt Arboretum, and Tyron Creek State Park are wonderful places to hike and explore these blooms.

Finding Spring Flowers In Salem Oregon
Just 45 minutes from Portland, Salem is home to many flower farms that bloom from late March to May. The soil of the central Willamette Valley is a bountiful place for grapes and flowers to flourish.
Oregon’s state capital is a wonderful place to observe the cherry blossoms. Typically the third week of March is when the trees at Capitol Mall bloom.
Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm
Woodburn’s Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm has 40 acres of colorful tulips that bloom from late March through May. Full bloom typically happens in mid-April which only last for about two weeks. Follow their social media page for updates on bloom status so you can plan accordingly.
Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival is $20/ person and you can purchase tickets in advance online if you would like. Children under 12 are free! Dogs are allowed at the tulip farm on a leash as long as they are well behaved. Keep in mind that on sunny days and on full bloom the farm will be quite busy. If you have time, explore nearby Silver Falls State Park in the same day.
Adelman Peony Gardens
Over 500 peonies bloom here from late April to mid-June! It is also a great place to purchase the flowers to grow in your own garden. It is truly spectacular to witness! What I love about the peonies is that they are almost as tall as you are, making it fun to photograph.

Schreiner’s Iris Gardens
Home to one of the most beautiful fairy-like gardens in Oregon, I love coming here every year. Plus, if you live in Portland, it’s only 32 miles south from there.
Typically, the farm opens in early May to the public 9AM-6PM daily. It’s a great place to buy Iris bulbs for your garden as well! The magic garden is a personal of the property owner an has some of the most spectacular columbines and lupines I’ve ever seen.
The Oregon Garden
Located in Silverton, Oregon, is home to one of the largest botanical gardens in Oregon. It is 80 acres with over 20 different specialty gardens to explore. The Oregon Garden is pet friendly to well behaved dogs on leashes. May through July are the best times to visit the garden.
Where To Find Spring Flowers in Eugene Oregon
Located two hours south of Portland, Eugene Oregon is home to many beautiful blooms as well. Cherry blossoms, magnolias, roses, and everything in between you can find in Eugene.
Owen Rose Garden is a popular place to view roses, magnolia trees, and cherry blossoms. In 1951 over 400 varieties of rose buses were donated creating this gorgeous garden in town. Typically late May through July are the best times to visit Owen Rose Garden. It is free to visit!
Hendricks Park near University of Oregon is an 80-acre woodland path home to the largest rhododendrons in the city. Although it is great to visit anytime of year. In the gardens dogs are not allowed. It is free to visit!
Where To Find Spring Flowers on the Oregon Coast
Florence Oregon is home to some of the states largest rhododendrons. Every year, the city hosts a Rhododendron Festival in mid-may to celebrate the flowers blooming. It’s a great time to explore local trails and observe the wild rhododendrons in bloom.
Southern Oregon is warmer than the rest of the state, so that is where wildflowers will bloom first. Port Orford Heads State Park has beautiful blooms in May and June. Cape Ferrelo at Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor is a wonderful place to catch Douglar Iris, lupine, orange monkey flower, and scarlet paintbrush April through May.
