Where Is North Bend?
Just 30 minutes outside of Seattle, Washington is the quaint town of North Bend. This area is home to many popular mountain biking trails, hiking trails, and just 25 minutes from The Summit at Snoqualmie. Treehouse AIRBNB properties are abundant in Washington but this area is a prime destination for activities without having to travel far outside of Seattle.
From Seattle: 30 minutes
From Portland: 3 hours
Cozy Acres Treehouse
Located just 8 minutes outside of downtown North Bend, Cedar Falls Treehouse, is a part of Cozy Acres Rentals. The property is home to homeowners Erica and Tim, who greeted us when we arrived and made us feel right at home. Every treehouse is built differently, so it is important to know what to expect before you book, as some people may want more amenities than they come with.
For me, the scenery of a treehouse and seeing how it was built makes the experience! Treehouse rentals in Washington are being built faster than I can stay in them! If you’re looking to rent a treehouse in Washington I advise planning in advance, as many book up fast.
Amenities at Cedar Falls Treehouse
This treehouse AIRBNB in Washington was extremely well built in 2020, with cozy decor and comfortable bedding to make you feel right at home. The homeowners truly go out of their way to ensure you’re comfortable!
Amenities of this treehouse rental to keep in mind:
- Outdoor shower heated by propane. This is mostly private, but it is important to note that this is an open air outdoor shower.
- Composting toilet inside: this comes with step by step instructions on how to use. There is no flushing toilet and will take a few extra steps when you use the bathroom. Having it inside the treehouse was quite nice!
- No running water. The homeowners do provide you with water at the treehouse, but there is no running water which makes doing dishes hard. We cooked 1 night and she said to leave the dishes, which was quite convenient. There is a pump sink in the bathroom, sufficient to brush your teeth and wash your hands.
- Projector screen + Alexa speaker and WiFi. Since we were traveling and working on the road, it was quite nice to watch a movie and do some work on our laptops.
- Lofted queen sized bed. This does require climbing a ladder to access the bed. It was quite cozy up there with an extremely comfortable bed.
- Heated: perfect for visiting during the colder months, you will stay nice and warm. No air conditioner but even with it being 75 outside it was quite cool in the shaded forest.
- No pets allowed
- Outdoor propane fire pit and porch. We loved this feature! Offered privacy and a space to relax among the trees.
- Outdoor grill and camp stove provided. We did kabobs which was simple and easy!
- Kitchenette: hot water kettle, coffee maker and coffee provided, mini fridge, plates, cups, microwave, and silverware.
Hiking In North Bend
It is important to note that because of the close proximity to Seattle, if you’re visiting on the weekend it is best to hike early to avoid overcrowding. Talking to the homeowners for suggestions is always a great way to get local insight as well. We visited on a weekend in July, so we got to the trailhead by 9am and were surprised how busy it already was. Thats why sometimes renting a Washington treehouse during the week can be appealing depending on what you’re wanting to do while you’re there.
Since we were recovering from backpacking trips we took it easy and hiked a couple miles out and back on the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie River Trail. This is a mountain biking trial as well, so be cautious to yield to mountain bikers.
Hiking Trails in North Bend
- Rattlesnake Ledge: 4 miles round-trip with 1,160 feet of elevation gain
- Dirty Harrys Balcony: 4.4 miles Round-trip with 1600 feet of elevation gain
- McClellan Butte: 9 miles round-trip with 3,700 feet of elevation gain

Hiking Passes
Prior to going out on a hike, be sure to purchase a Northwest Forest Pass or a Discover Pass for state parks in Washington. Not every hike has a kiosk for purchasing when you arrive, so be sure to plan ahead. This area can also get winter conditions, so be prepared for varying conditions depending on the season. And if you’re up for a drive, head over to Leavenworth and Wenatchee area, about 3 hours away has additional hiking.
Where To Eat and Drink in North Bend
North Bend is home to only 7,000 people, so the restaurants and bars aren’t going to be very abundant. There were a couple places we visited that we enjoyed while we were there.
- Coffee: Huxdotter and Arete Coffee Bar
- Breakfast: Twede’s Cafe, The North Bend Bakery, North Bend Bar and Grill
- Lunch and Dinner: Iron Duck Public House, Chang Thai and Pho
- Pearl and Stone Wine Co.
If you’re looking for additional lodging, on the Cozy Acres property there is also a cute 1 bedroom, 1 bath Cottage available for rent. This would be perfect to rent this Washington treehouse and share with friends or family. Be sure to book your treehouse rentals of Washington far in advance as this is extremely popular!
