Tye Haus Cabins
The Tye Haus cabins in Skykomish are well known for their A-Frame Washington cabin properties that gained quite a bit of traction on social media over the years. There are three cabins to choose from: Tye Haus, Sky Haus, and Foss Haus. Each cabin is different and offers each guest with bliss in the woods. Located right off highway 2, there are many beautiful destinations to visit with a short drive.
Where Are These A-Frame Cabins Located?
Skykomish, Washington is just an hour and half outside of Seattle which makes it a popular area for recreating. If you’re coming from Portland the cabins are four hours. If you’re making the drive be sure to check out hikes in the area and maybe even make a trip to Seattle out of it.
Foss Haus
Foss is an A-Frame in Washington that is beautifully painted black with a large living room, downstairs bedroom and full bath, along with a lofted space. It is important to note, I had spotty cell phone service while I was there so it was nice to have wi-fi so I could get some work done while I was there. The cabin is dog friendly with a $50 deposit per pet. Outside there is a fireplace for relaxing after a long hike. It was nice to have cable TV during the evening to unwind and watch movies.
Skykomish is a quiet little town with only a few dining options with seasonal hours. I advise bringing your own groceries and cooking meals at these A-Frame cabins.
Tye Haus
Tye Haus is the middle cabin of the three that has gained major attention on social media over the years. These Washington A-frame is perfectly aligned with a deck and hot tub. With warm interior, a gas fireplace, and a cozy couch with plenty of room for the family. Downstairs there is a day bed, full kitchen with gas range, and full bathroom. The lofted space was my favorite. Waking up among the trees is what sells it for me. Oh, and the hot tub was quite nice on a cool spring afternoon. Dogs are allowed for $50.
Sky Haus
Sky Haus has a large lofted space with 4 beds, 1 full and 3 twin sized beds. Perfect for a group of girlfriends or the family! There is an outdoor fire pit and hot tub for relaxing. What is nice about the iconic Tye Haus A-Frame cabins is the access to the Skykomish River, which is arguably one of the most beautiful in Washington state because of its blue color. Sky Haus has a new hot tub located outside on the front deck, perfectly aligned with the a-frame. Dogs are allowed here for $50 a night.
Things To Do In The Area
If you’re looking for a quick nature walk, winter sports, advanced hiking, or a hot spring visit this area has it all! The list around Skykomish is endless really.
Stevens Pass Ski Area
Tye Haus Cabins are the perfect place to stay for your winter adventure. Stevens Pass Mountain Resort is just 20 minutes from the cabins, making it easy to get fresh tracks!
Scenic Hot Springs
Scenic Hot springs are located just 10 minutes from the cabins. If you can plan it accordingly, book the hot springs during your stay. Reservations for these hot springs must be done in advance by booking through the owners. Only 10 people per day are allowed to soak here, which makes it nice to not have to fight crowds and truly enjoy your soak. Book in advance to secure your visit!
Lake Wenatchee
Just 45 minutes from Tye Haus Cabins, Lake Wenatchee is a beautiful place to visit anytime of year. In the winter months, snow shoeing and cross county skiing are very popular. It is a great place for boating and paddle boarding in the summer months.
Bridal Veil Falls
Located just 30 minutes from the cabins, Bridal Veil Falls is a beautiful moderate hike that brings you to a beautiful gushing waterfall on the side of the mountain. If you want to add challenge, hike up to Lake Serene in the summertime. The hike up to Lake Serene is 7.6 miles round trip with 2,690 feet of elevation gain. It is essential to check snow reports as it isn’t open year round. However, Bridal Veil is typically open year round and is 4 miles round trip with 1000 feet of elevation gain.
Heybrook Lookout
Located 16 miles from Tye Haus cabins, this popular hike grants views of the mountains. A steep and sweet 2.6 miles round trip with 850 feet of gain, the hike brings you to a lookout tower built in 1925. From the top of the tower the views are the best, especially on a clear day Bridal Veil Falls will be in sight.
Barclay Lake
Popular for good reason, Barclay Lake is a short and sweet gorgeous hike that takes you through a lush forest and ends at a lake with a mountain view. This is a 4.3 mile out-and-back hiking trail with 387 feet of elevation gain, this is one of the easier hikes in the area.
Leavenworth
If escaping the woods for a great meal and views of the Enchantments suites your fancy, the Bavarian inspired town of Leavenworth is an hour from the cabins. Visiting in the wintertime is especially fun as the town has light and Christmas decor spewed about the town. In the summertime popular hikes such as Colchuck and Eightmile Lake are worth the trip!
In conclusion, the iconic Tye Haus cabins should be added to a Washington Bucket List because of their close proximity to Seattle, mountain views, and will provide utmost relaxation.
